MyIUS is the most innovative product of the year 2021 in the field of contraceptive assistance
Most Innovative Product of the Year 2021: A title that has now been awarded to the MyIUS app as part of the Pharma Trend 2021 studies. According to the study, 73% of the surveyed gynaecologists were convinced by MyIUS. The first certified, digital IUS companion improves the doctor-patient communication on objective data basis.
In cooperation with Jenapharm, BAYOOMED developed the app especially for users of intrauterine systems (IUS). The CE-certified medical product was marketed by BAYOOCARE. The aim of MyIUS is to create a prediction of the user’s bleeding profile.
Grit Berghof, Head of Marketing at Jenapharm, told the magazine Pharma Barometer:
With an IUS like Kyleena, ovulation is usually not suppressed, which means that the natural hormonal cycle is mostly maintained. Every woman is unique – and so is her menstrual cycle. Therefore, the bleeding profiles after insertion of an IUS can also differ individually from woman to woman. Especially in the adjustment phase, the woman often does not know often when her menstrual period will occur. Once the user has documented her menstrual cycle in the app for three months, this is able to make a prediction of the expected bleeding pattern for the next six months.
MyIUS – more than an app
Certified companion and planning tool – the MyIUS enables users to familiarise themselves with the IUS in a special way. The app helps to track bleeding and enables a prediction of the bleeding profile.
In this way, users can familiarise themselves with the effects of the IUS on their body and menstrual cycle.
