How Does the NeoDoppler Work?

A small, lightweight ultrasound sensor that performs Doppler measurements is gently placed over the infant’s anterior fontanelle. It then continuously measures CBF using unfocused ultrasound waves.

Doppler ultrasound technology produces waveforms that depict blood flow in the brain. By zooming in on the screen, the waves can be viewed in higher resolution. At the same time, this allows the average velocity to be determined over definable time intervals.
